Captains for 2023-2024: Daisy Adinkrah, Alicia Guo, Tyra Montan
Groton volleyball began as a Faculty-Sponsored Activity (FSA), then became a club team. Interest was so strong that the volleyball squad morphed into an interscholastic JV team. When the JV team lost only one game, Groton was ready for varsity-level play!
Volleyball at Groton balances working hard and building skills with having fun. Team members are selected for their skill, attitude, and commitment to team play. In 2019, our last competitive season, Groton volleyball shared both the ISL Award ( with Brooks) and the NEPSAC Sportsmanship Award ( with Middlesex) .
Groton’s varsity volleyball team practices four days a week and competes on Wednesdays and Saturdays. For more information, feel free to contact Coach Jen Kane.
Prior to coaching the varsity volleyball team, Jen Kane was the head coach of the JV team. She has also served as an assistant coach for the varsity track and field program since 2018. Coach Kane played volleyball and ran track in high school and continued on to run track at the Ohio State University, where she played volleyball on intramural teams. When she’s not running or working with the girls on skills, she’s either in the mailroom, school store, or athletic center. Coach Kane's goals for the team are to have great communication, bonding, and sportsmanship, which will carry with them throughout life.
